I have been a member of the Langley Wildthings since the age of 8, and have been coaching for Langley since the age of 14. I am very excited to return to the club as a coach again this summer – this will be my 22nd year as a Wildthing!
I attended the University of Virginia where I studied History and Government and graduated from UVA’s Curry School of Education with a Masters in Teaching with an endorsement in High School History. While in Charlottesville, I coached two different swim teams: The Albermarle High School Swim Team and the Virginia Gators of Charlottesville. Currently, I coach for the Fairfax Foxes and the West Springfield High School Swim and Dive Team, where I also teach History.
The Wildthings have been such a big part of my life, and I am committed to helping every swimmer experience the same joy that I have. I emphasize water safety, proper technique, and sportsmanship- all while trying to foster community and a love of swimming. I love summer swim and am so excited to have another terrific season!
I’ve been coaching swimming for over a decade. The 2025-2026 season marks my 8th season with the Langley Wildthings.
I started swimming later than most—at 13 during my freshman year of high school. I swam through high school and began coaching my local summer league team in my junior and senior years. While attending George Mason University, I continued coaching summer league and USA swim teams while swimming with the club team for four years. After earning my degree in International Relations and spending a few years overseas, I returned to the DC area and rekindled my passion for coaching.
I enjoy working with swimmers of all ages and backgrounds, focusing on strong fundamentals and building a lifelong love of swimming. I know there are many unique paths through the sport, and I aim to support each swimmer in reaching their goals both in and out of the water. We emphasize teamwork, fundamentals, and fun, creating a solid foundation for any level of swimming, from building endurance to competing at the highest levels.
No matter the path or goal, I’m committed to helping swimmers develop the skills and confidence to succeed in challenging situations now and in the future.
